Arnold M. Graton Associates, Inc., an Ashland based Construction Company specializing in Covered Bridges, will be moving a newly constructed private Perry Covered Bridge onto its abutments in Norwich CT on September 13th. This will be a unique opportunity to see a team of oxen assisted by winches haul a completed bridge to its new home. Meg Graton, Arnold’s wife, has invited the public to visit this one in a lifetime chance to see how bridges were hauled onto their abutments the old fashion way. Music and food will be available.

If traveling to CT is not an option, the Gratons are giving the public another opportunity to watch a bridge being placed on it new abutments. From September 16th-18th Arnold Graton Associates, Inc. will be relocating a covered bridge that currently resides at Storyland in Glenn, NH. The bridge has been donated to the Kennett High School in Conway and similar to the Perry Bridge, it too will span a waterway. As a side note, this particular bridge (known as the Smithsonian Bridge) was built by Arnold and his team in 2000 and hauled to the National Mall in Washington DC.

The address in Norwich is: 128 Wawecus Hill Rd, Norwich, CT 06360
